the total superconscious, conscious, subconscious and unconscious experience. It also the information that is transmitted and received by the mind circuits to and from the universal mind. Your mind is the arena of decision making. Your mind is yours and you have free will to do as you see fit. You can choose to follow the divine leadings or you can choose to reject or ignore it. Every time you make a decision to follow the guidance of the divine spark, you create a small portion of your new self, your soul of eternal survival. How you go about following the leadings of the spirit determine the quality or "flavor" of your soul. For instance, a leading from the spirit to be charitable may entice you to give money, or on the other hand, to do service. It is a good thing either way, but the "flavor" of your soul is different depending on what you do. People's souls vary in quality depending on how they follow the quiet voice within. Making the wrong choices by mistake is often painful but it helps you to make the right choices next time and is part of the process of learning by trial and error. A soul is never afraid to make mistakes. It can also be said that there are no such thing as mistakes, only stepping stones to perfection, if you learn from them. It is extremely important to your spiritual progression that you make the right moral decisions in the arena of your mind. However, it does not necessarily require the highest intelligence to make the right moral choices. There are many with limited intellect who can and have made the good choice over the bad. Spiritual discernment is sometimes more a matter of love and humility rather than intelligence, although intelligence is highly desirable.
Soul
The soul is the essence of your humanity. Your soul is created and grows in quantity and quality as you make the right moral choices. Once your soul is of sufficient quality and quantity, your mind may delegate authority to it, based on its experience, to call the shots. That is why a moral decision that has been previously made by your mind and has been stored in your soul will be accessed to make any such future decisions. The more you evolve as a human being, the more your soul will be allowed by your mind to make the decisions in your life. As a mortal creature chooses to do the will of the Creator, so the indwelling spirit becomes the father of a new reality in human experience, the human soul. The mortal mind is the mother of this same emerging reality. The ancient Chinese saw it as the yang of spiritual consciousness, the old school Egyptians the ka and it is known as the atman to the Hindus. The substance of this new reality is neither material nor spiritual--it is a seamless merging of both. This emerging and immortal soul is destined to survive mortal death and begin ascension.
Spirit
The spirit is the essence of your being. It seems, aside from materially minded individuals, that the word spirit is intuitively understandable to most people. We may not be able to offer a clear and concise definition, but we know what it is. It is perceived as some kind of driving energy within us and all living creatures. We have phrases such as team spirit, the spirit of teamwork, the warrior spirit, etc., to describe a force that is unseen and dynamic. The divine spirit is the compass that points us in the direction of our eternal destiny. It has been known by many names: the still, small voice, the Christ Consciousness, the Thought Adjuster, the yin of spiritual consciousness, the brahman, the divine spark, the indwelling monitor, the ba. This is the main driving spirit but not the only spirit influence as there are others. This leading spirit points the way toward higher values and deeper realizations of meaning and living. It is the guiding light toward perfection! It is not your conscience, as conscience is often dictated by society and culture. It is not so concerned with what you are now, as it is with what you will be in the future. Sometimes it is referred to as the true self. Although most people are not conscious of their divine spirit, they may be led by it on a subconscious level. Whenever you make a new moral decision, one that you haven't come across before, the choice you make will be the result of either following the divine leadings of the divine spirit or not.
The True Self
What is your true self? From the viewpoint of the eternal, your true self is the divine spirit within as it becomes one with your soul. From the perspective of the struggling mortal, your true self is the part of yourself you identify with at the moment; the driver of the unified human vehicle, (which will be discussed later.) To say that the spirit within, the brahman, the Christ Consciousness, the indwelling spirit, the Thought Adjuster, is your true self is an affirmation of your true state of being as a spiritual entity. However, we must acknowledge that this indwelling spirit is from the Creator and returns to
