All life has an innate guidance system that seeks perfection. A plant put inside a darkened room with but a crack in the roof will unerringly grow towards the light shining through the crack from outside. A human being endowed with spirit on a darkened world will also consistently seek spiritual light. The spiritual light, however, shines from within the human being for it has an internal source rather than an external one, and this spiritual light is tailored to fit our stage of growth. We have spiritual baby food, the lower spiritual influences that are right for us in the beginning stages of spiritual growth when we are mind centered, and then as we advance, we are given adult food, or higher spiritual influences when we are soul centered. These spiritual influences, our "spiritual food", are received by our minds.
The common understanding among scientists of our day is that our minds are but a product of our biologic mechanism, i.e., our human bio-computer, that our thoughts are merely the computations of our physical hardware. However, there are some scientists who are exploring the concept that there is within our brains a receiving mechanism which connects to a universal mind, that apart from the adding up of data, our brains have access to a higher "overmind" through certain unknown circuits.
The Seven Adjutant Mind Spirits are these circuits, they are the standard spiritual circuits that influence the mind of humans. These non-material circuits in our mind gives us the urge to reach for a higher consciousness that our materially based logic and intellect alone cannot achieve. By analogy, it is like baby food when we are teething, so that we can grow to ingest solid food later on.
To say they are spirits or merely circuits may be misleading. The word "spirits" tend to connote ethereal entities, while the word "circuit" makes it sound as if they are but electronic components. They are similar to both but are neither. Think of spirit in the context of "team spirit" or the "spirit of friendship". And think of circuit in the context of "connection." The words will be used interchangeably to refer to the same phenomenon.
They are ministers of the lower levels of experiential mind, and they are as follows:

Intuition
Understanding
Courage
Knowledge
Counsel
Worship
Wisdom
These circuits or spirits are resident in our minds through the biologic hardware in our brains that can receive and transmit spiritual information. The brain must have evolved the necessary hardware in order for these connections to happen. The spirit of Courage bestowed on an electronic computer will not result in a courageous computer because the computer has no components that can manifest courage. An insect without the biologic development of an advanced brain that is capable of receiving the circuit of Understanding cannot be bestowed with that spirit. That is why insects are non-teachable, they simply are not wired to understand some things. It is the same for all of the seven adjutant mind spirits or circuits. Intuition, Understanding, Courage, Knowledge, Counsel, Worship and Wisdom are possible in the mind because we have evolved the necessary receiving hardware in our brains that make these functions viable.
It is up to us to empower these circuits. We have a choice in the matter. Some people are courageous because they choose often to use the circuit of courage. Some people are more understanding because they choose to empower this circuit. We must recognize these leadings in our lives and choose to use them everyday.
The Spirit Of Intuition urges us to look beyond the mere logic of linear thinking. The Spirit Of Understanding transcends the complex arranging of concepts and begets results that partakes of a coherent whole. The Spirit Of Courage overcomes animalistic fear and self-interest to higher values of bravery. The Spirit Of Knowledge reaches beyond the mere adding up of data so that we can really know, rather than to just store information. The Spirit Of Counsel establishes relationships for higher reasons than to just gain material benefit. The Spirit Of Worship leads us to look for causes that are not evident in the material world. The Spirit Of Wisdom enables us to see the total picture beyond what is readily discernible.
If the purpose of our minds was merely for biologically hardwired survival and species perpetuation, why do we use functions such as courage that is often self-destructive? Why be able to understand complex concepts in mathematics and science that do not materially benefit our immediate survival and comfort? Why be led toward relationships that do not result in material gain? Why get involved in worshipping an unseen God that seems to do nothing to ease our physical wants? (Intuition and wisdom may be the only functions that help us both in our immediate needs and our unseen future.)
If we were not spiritually evolving creatures we would be like insects, surviving individually and as a species but not progressing to a higher cosmic state. These circuits enable us to reach upward, from the material realm to the spiritual by urging us to become more intuitive, understanding, courageous, knowledgeable, counseling, worshipful and wise, to go beyond our basic physical faculties in search of higher answers. If we did not have these circuits, we would be unable to grow spiritually by following the leadings of the spirit
