to think ahead, to create technology, are some of the things we can do that animals cannot. We also have to ability to contemplate the universe and question our purpose here as well as to formulate a philosophy of living. And we can worship the Creator. When we begin to realize these things, we can get above the level of identifying with animals and start to see the value of being human. As humans we contemplate our purpose here and begin to realize that there is more to the universe and our lives than what is readily visible. We begin to see with our "inner eye," that is, we begin to feel with our minds and souls the existence of spiritual reality and start to realize the divinity within us. This opens up realms of new potential. Is it possible that we do not have to die? Can we exist as something more than human? What is it within us that can transcend material life? Upon determined and persistent seeking, these questions are answered in varying degrees to the soul and they are largely realized through faith garnered through spiritual experiences and spiritual insight.
The Seven Cosmic Circles
These circles are also known as the Psychic Circles, based on the word psyche referring to the mind and has little to do with extra-sensory perception. It is a conceptualization of the fact that as we move forward in transformation, we also go deeper inward into our minds. These levels of development happen in the total progression of the physical, mindal and spiritual selves; it reflects the development of the Personality as a whole; body, mind and soul. Since there are areas that overlap as well as times when a person may regress as well as progress, it is difficult to say exactly in which circle a person may be in at a given time. Imagine seven concentric circles, the seventh being the outermost circle and the first the innermost. One enters at the seventh level, which is just above the animal stage, empowers the soul around the third level and can communicate directly and constantly with the divine spirit after reaching the first level. The following areas are where the unified human vehicle must make improvements in order to progress in these levels:
Material and physical - The inner resources necessary to deal with one's material environment, the body being part of this environment. Progress in being able to handle problems of material need as well as the vicissitudes of physical health is important.
Mindal and emotional - Progress in clear and reasoned thinking. Inquiry, study and action. Developing a philosophy to manage the problems of life.
Soul and Spirit - Progress in following the leadings of the spirit. Identifying with spiritual and eternal values over material and temporal values.
Advancing in the above areas constitutes inward movement - depth, however, since the way we advance through these levels is by upgrading from the standard mind circuits and to the higher spiritual circuits, this also results in forward movement - length.
3. Reactions To Environment
As we immerse ourselves deeper into self-realization, we progress from the consciousness of the human to the realization of the divine. This results in changes of our reaction to our environment. It seems the deeper we go, the better we get. Our animalistic reactions such as returning evil for evil, unreasoning fear, and self-centeredness are replaced by such human reactions as intellectual reasoning, being socially centered, and making conscious decisions. Then we go deeper to spiritual reactions such as unconditional love, returning good for evil, selflessness, and being universe centered. The urges from the mind circuits and the leadings of the higher spiritual circuits play an important part in this progression of self-realization and reaction to our environment. Our animalistic reactions are purely biological and is part of us through the millions of years of physical evolution that we had to undergo in order to become who we are now. We have been conditioned to respond animalistically because our bodies are animals. But since we have developed an intellect, and through the intellect the means of receiving the urges of the standard mind circuits and then the leadings of the higher spiritual circuits, we can progress to displaying human reactions and then spiritual reactions, overcoming the bellicose tendencies of the animal within us. Animals return tit for tat, as in getting bit and biting back. Humans consider what is the best response. The spiritual reaction is to always do good, even return good for evil. Animals are unreasoning, humans react with intellectual reason, our soul reacts with spiritual reasoning. Animals have no morality, humans react by debating what the best morals are and create societal mores, the soul knows that all human morality is relative and reaches for spiritual morality. Animals are mainly self-centered; humans are socially centered, their perception by society be
